Its the Best Thing for Your Dog!

Give Your Dog Every Chance to Live A Healthy Life

  • Spaying a female protects her from the risks of uterine and ovarian cancers.
  • Spaying a female before her first heat cycle greatly reduces her chances of getting mammary cancer.
  • Neutering a male completely eliminates his chance of getting testicular cancer.
  • Neutering a male reduces his chance of getting prostate cancer.

Give Your Dog Every Chance to Live a Happy Life

  • Neutered males are far less likely to get into fights with other males.
  • Spaying and neutering can greatly reduce many behavioral problems that cause pets to end up abandoned or surrendered to animal shelters.
  • Neutering a male eliminates their desire to roam in search of a female in heat.

It's the Best Thing for You!

  • Statistically, spayed and neutered animals live longer than their unaltered counterparts.
  • If you live within the city limits of Corsicana you pay a reduced registration fee if your animal is spayed or neutered.
  • Females in heat tend to spot blood and can leave messy stains on your carpets and furniture. Spaying completely eliminates heat cycles and the spotting that goes with them.
  • Spaying prevents your female from giving birth to and unwanted litter. Neutering prevents your boy from impregnating the neighborhood girls and helps you stay on peaceful terms with your neighbors.
  • Unwanted animals are dropped off at shelters, which are already overburdened with excess animals. The ethanasia rate in shelters can be as high as 90%. Other are dumped on county roads to fend for themselves. Many of those die from exposure, starvation, disease and injury.

Spaying or Neutering Your Pet is a SNAP!

NCARF has developed SNAP, the Spay Neuter Assistance Project. It is a program to assist the residents of Corsicana and Navarro County with the cost of spay or neuter surgeries for their pet when they cannot afford to have the procedure done. Our goal is to reduce the number of homeless and unwanted animals throughout Navarro County.

If you need help with spay/neuter surgery for your pet, go to our Download Page and get a SNAP form, fill it out and return it to NCARF.
